The most annoying cliche

The main character is hallucinating or in a coma. So, Pokemon, Batman, all the good stuff that seems too far fetch is just a hallucination or a coma.

A theory (that you probably heard before):

If Ash was just hallucinating, then what is the point of seventeen seasons? Characters that we’re connected to, and we would always cry even if they had the slightest pain. The show would be completely pointless and irrelevant. Dumb to consider and Dumb to do. The worst plot twist ever.

Be more creative when you’re writing a story.

Cliches can be of use though.

Recycling old ideas. Cliches help, they don’t destroy. Embrace the conventions so people put you in the same league as them. Tropes help. Many young writers fall into this trap.

Using the coma thing is okay. Just don’t use it too much or make it the main focus of your story. Don’t do that with any cliche, really
