It all started when I applied for the Andela fellowship program cycle 28. I started with the bootcamp curriculum which wasn’t easy. After the Interview, I got an email with an invitation to…
Refresher
As a quick refresher, here was my “final idea” from the Evaluation Project. It was simply Reflective Grip Tape and it was incredibly long (too long).
S.C.A.M.P.E.R.
In the SCAMPER section, I went through each and every letter of the Acronym and answered the questions provided on the class presentation slides. Then I came up with at least 7 ideas for each section, as instructed. While ideating, I faced some problems concerning the Eliminate and Magnify sections because of my simple primary design. However, after several different occasions of brainstorming, these two aspects became the most important element in my new design.

Morphological Ideation
Creating the Morphological Ideation was quite tough. It was particularly tough for me, because I believed it was the first step of the Structured Ideation process. Creating the five requirements for functionality was a bit of a struggle because of the sheer simplicity of my idea. To make matters more simple, I decided to take advantage of the shape and existing effects (stickiness and reflection) of my idea because they can vary easily.
However, constructing the six Design Embodiments that followed, was very challenging. After about 2 hours of hopelessly self ideating with mind maps and lists, I decided to take a different route. I took advantage of the fact the assignment was assigned over thanksgiving break and used my relatives input to influence and inspire my ideas. They had some great ideas, in which I proudly present in the preceding Morphological Ideation.
