Reflections from my life through poetry.

I took to writing poetry in Oct 1981, when I was working as the night manager of a restaurant called the Golden Bear in Chicago.

After the late night bar rush and before early morning stragglers that arrived before sunrise, I usually had a couple of hours of free time.

I was not having the best times of my life. One night, I grabbed a yellow notepad and started scribbling. I wrote six stanzas of free form poetry.

Over the years, I have played with the words and edited some, but the essence remains of what I felt that night.

In the ensuing years, as my energies transmuted from the material to the spiritual, and I started thinking about settling down, I kept writing just to express my feeling. Sometimes expressing my longings for meaning in life, and other times, the object of my infatuation.

I received inspiration to write this next one as my plane approached the Albuquerque airport and I looked out the window and saw the clouds and their shadows on the mountains below. It has remained, more or less, untouched and as I wrote it.
