“I hate men.”

This is what I would hear women at my University say a lot and even more on social media and Tic Tok.

Oftentimes, and this is not an open invitation for men to say they are being wronged, it’s the woman’s fault.

That was hard for me to admit but as I reflect back on my previous relationships I realize that a lot of times I had some big part in the reason why it didn’t work out too.

Here are three things why:

I couldn’t figure out why it was that the men I dated found me so complicated and that was because I came across as indecisive.

When it came to making decisions or sticking to one set of beliefs for the relationship I was very much indifferent.

I never really considered my indifference to be a bad thing, if anything, I thought guys would like it if I was cool with whatever and not really made a big deal out of much.

This is actually very harmful to a relationship because it deprives your partner of getting to know your actual wants and needs.

You are one piece of the relationship and you should hold your needs and wants just as important as their needs and wants.

I would push aside things that bothered me instead of talking about them because I believed that was what you did for someone you cared about or someone you love.

I now know that is wrong and that relationships should be equal.

There is a big difference between sex and intimacy.

When someone is intimate they feel close to one another in the most private way and I was always running away from that.

It’s a simple concept because intimacy is what builds a relationship.
